FORTINS - 2013 PIC Long-time Friends and Fundraisers Christine and Christian Fortin are running the 2013 ING New York City Marathon – Sunday November 3-2013 for Emily’s House (EH) and Patrick 4 Life (P4L)

The Fortin’s vision has been steadfast – Patrick 4 Life will ensure that every child in every classroom in Ontario is educated about HIV/AIDS.

For over 8 years this wonderful North Bay Family and their friends have embraced PAC’s vision to one day open Toronto’s first pediatric palliative residential hospice. June 2013, our vision became a reality – Emily’s House, a 10-bed home-away-from-home that will serve over 300 children and youth annually from across the province.

Please support the Fortin’s and their 16th Marathon – every dollar raised for this special campaign will be split evenly supporting P4L’s and EH’s programs.

About Patrick 4 Life and Emily’s House

Patrick 4 Life, a registered charity, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating youth about the prevention of HIV/AIDS. You are familiar of our unwavering P4L vision to ensure that every child in every classroom in the Province of Ontario will experience an HIV/AIDS education program.  Christian and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your ongoing support to our family and of the Partici-Patrick program involving 2,000 students, 35 classrooms, 165 teachers, and 150 volunteers, in our 8th year!

Emily’s House will welcome up to 300 children, youth and their families annually, providing a third alternative to a hospital bed or home-hospice support, particularly when the burden of home care may be too great for the parents. Compassionate and comprehensive services will be provided round-the-clock through a medical support team and trained volunteers.

On November 3rd, 2012, Amanda Marascio’s CIRCLE OF HOPE, in support of Emily’s House hosted a fabulous evening of fine dining, dancing, live and silent auctions.

"On behalf of the AMCOH committee, we would like to thank everyone that supported our 2012 event. With your help, $34,505 was raised for Emily's House, a children's residential hospice being built in Toronto. This valuable organization will give support to children and their families during their most horrendous times. A place where caring and qualified people take on the caregiver's role so families can be families again.

The cheque presentation was done at Emily's home with her mother Lindsey at her side on December 20th, 2012. It was a proud and inspiring moment for the AMCOH committee to spend time with Emily and her mother." – Ralph Marascio

    Thank You 2012 Hikers!

Thank you to all our hikers and volunteers who participated in this year’s 10th Annual Hike for Hospice. PAC put their best foot forward and raised just under $18,000. Many thanks to all our generous donors. See you all next year!

Testimony from a PAC Volunteer – Jenn

“The 2012 Hike for Hospice was extremely fun and well organized. I had a chance to re-connect with some of the wonderful volunteers, trainers and staff from Philip Aziz / Emily House, and to make some new friends. (Now that I’m a volunteer and have learned so much about volunteer recognition through PAC, I hugged and high-fived as many volunteers as I could along the hike route). Our team felt like movie stars, posing for so many photo opportunities, and celebrating the completion of the 5K hike … and contributing to more possibilities for quality of life for hospice care clients.”
