Spiritual care is an integral part of the Philip Aziz Hospice (PAC) program. Spirituality is a universal yet unique dimension of every individual which longs for connectedness, meaning, purpose, dignity, love, peace, acceptance and hope. It encompasses beliefs, values and yearnings which influence faith, emotional well-being, relationships, coping mechanisms, sense of hope, activity, choices and perspectives on meaning, life, death and illness. Professional spiritual/pastoral care is available for clients and their loved ones to help process concerns and to facilitate, explore and strengthen their spiritual journey.
The Chaplain and/or spiritual care volunteers are committed to respecting each person’s unique spiritual journey, faith or non faith practices, understanding that spiritual needs and expressions vary. Reflections from a clientWe appreciate the assistance we have received from Philip Aziz Centre. From spiritual support, to help at Christmas time, which makes it easier for me and my family to relax and enjoy that time of year. Especially thank you for your wonderful volunteers."
