Dear Prospective Volunteer,
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Philip Aziz Centre. I would like to take this opportunity to explain the application process for the volunteer program.
Due to the fact that we work with vulnerable adults & children, our organization has a thorough screening process to ensure the needs of the families, Philip Aziz Centre staff and our volunteers are met.
Attached you will find the volunteer application form, the list of current volunteer opportunities and some information about the programs and services offered at Philip Aziz Centre. I trust this will help you understand the type of work we do and how important volunteer involvement is to us in serving the Adults & children we serve experiencing a life limiting illness. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with us, we require attendance to our volunteer orientation session prior to being invited for a selection interview.
You may complete the application form at your convenience and return it with your resume or bring it with you to the interview or orientation session.
Another step in the screening process is a police record check, which is conducted by the Toronto Police Service at our request. This occurs after a successful interview and is explained at that time.
Should you require additional information, please contact Amanda Maragos at 416-363-9196 X211.
Sincerely, Willi Shillinglaw Manager of Volunteer and Staff Resources
